The structure of The Governing Body of Robert Arkenstall Primary school consists of:

  • The Curriculum and Standards Committee
  • The Finance and Personnel Committee
  • The Strategic Planning Group.

Each committee meets to discuss business prior to a full governing body meeting and the chairs of the committees meet at Strategic Planning to ensure all activity is co-ordinated and committees can work effectively towards the key goals.

Cathy Murphy 

Chair of Governors, Local Authority Governor (October 2019),
Chair of the Strategic Planning Group and Nominated Governor for Child Protection

I have two children - one child currently attends in KS2. I am particularly interested in personal development and pupil wellbeing. I am the Governor with designated responsibility for Child Protection. I work for the PSHE service in Cambridgeshire and also run my own hands-on history workshops for schools. I have been a Governor at the school since 2013.

Kate Bonney - Headteacher 

I have been Headteacher of this school since 2016. As Headteacher I am a permanent member of the Governing body and sit on all committees. I taught at the school prior to my appointment as Headteacher and most recently worked in Upper Key Stage 2. Professionally I have experience of working within the Advertising industry and within Executive Search before changing career to teaching.

Jonathan Carter
 

Parent Governor, elected Nov 2011, re-elected 2019. Joint Chair of the Finance and Personnel committee.
I have been a governor since November 2011 and as Joint Chair of the Finance and Personnel Committee have regular meetings with the Headteacher and finance administrator. I currently have one child at school, two others were educated here and have moved on. Professionally I run a digital communications company and offer school advice on ICT systems.

Warren Holmes-Chatfield 

Parent Governor, elected Nov 2011, re-elected 2019. Joint Chair of the Finance and Personnel committee.
I have been a governor since November 2011 and as Joint Chair of the Finance and Personnel Committee have regular meetings with the Headteacher and finance administrator. All my children have attended or attend the school. Currently I have one child in KS2. Professionally
I am a partner in a horticultural business and support the school as the named Health and Safety Governor offering advice and help with property and grounds maintenance. 

Olivia Petherick 

Co-opted Governor, renewed November 2017. Chair of the Curriculum and Standards Committee
I have been a governor since November 2011 and currently Chair the Standards and Curriculum Committee. I have had two children attend the school previously. Professionally I am a teacher with experience in assessment, SEN and sport. I have run sports clubs at the school.

Jo Collins 

Co-opted Governor with responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
I was formerly a parent governor (when my children attended the school) and am now a co-opted governor. I sit on the Curriculum and Standards Committee as well as being the governor with particular responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. I meet with the SENDco to discuss policy and practice. Professionally I am Director of a company providing specialist healthcare equipment and Chair of a national group of equipment retailers.

Ann Gardner 

Co-opted Governor, nominated Feb 2014, renewed 2017 with Responsibility for Safer Recruitment
I became a co-opted governor having retired in April 2013, after 7½ years as Head of a South Cambridgeshire primary school. I am a member of the Curriculum and Standards Committee and share responsibility for the Headteacher Performance Management cycle. I support the school particularly with recruitment and curriculum assessment, via visits, audits and participation in interview processes. I have lived in Haddenham for 25 years. I am married, with two grown up children and two grandchildren.

Sam Smith 

Co-opted Community Governor, nominated May 2016 
I am a parent at the school and sit on the Finance and Personnel Committee. I am also EYFS governor. Professionally I have experience of working within Human Resources for the Fire Service .

Suzie Dew

Elected Staff Governor, elected January 2018
I have been Business Manager at the school since 2007 and have worked at other local Primary schools in the area. I sit on the Finance and Personnel Committee. All three of my children have attended Robert Arkenstall in previous years.

Rob Fisher 

Co-opted Governor, nominated 2016
I am the Deputy Headteacher having been part of the teaching team since 2013. I teach as part of the Upper Key Stage 2 team and have responsibility for assessment within school and particularly in Year 6, preparing for SATs. I sit on the Curriculum & Standards Committee.
