Love Learning

Last week the new reception children met their Year 6 buddies.

Each year the new reception children in the school are assigned a 'Buddy'.  This buddy is a Year 6 child who is there to partner them and help them out when needed.  It might be enjoying Muddy Kitchen together, holding a hand on the way to the church, reading a book together or just for a chat at playtime.  This is something the Year 6 children particularly look forward to, taking on a responsibility and sharing time with the new children.

The children all met and shared their 'Buddy Boxes' - these boxes are a shoe box with important things about themselves in.  It provides something to talk about and helps them get to know each other.

I think everyone really enjoyed the time spent together last Friday judging by the smiles and the chatter that filled the hall.
