We have enjoyed role playing Langar in the Gurdwara as part of our exploration of seva in Sikhism.
The YR children made the food for everyone. They prepared carrot and cucumber sticks and made raita dip with yogurt and cucumber. They shared the food equally between 29 plates adding bread sticks also. Everyone took their shoes off before entering the "Gurdwara" and sat on the floor in two lines. Then the Y1 children served the food to everyone. It was delicious! At the end the Y1 children cleared the plates away. We have deepened our understanding of what happens during Langar and how it can be part of seva for Sikhs. We hope you enjoy looking at some more photos of our role play.
