Jupiter spent the afternoon on Thursday 25th February investigating what they could dissolve in water....    and what they couldn't!  Later they tried to separate the substances from the water......

The children added a number of substances to water, mixed it and then observed the results.  They used salt, coffee, sand, flour, sugar and soil.  They found out some dissolved and some didn't.  Ask them how they knew the difference!

Later they tried to separate a mixture of lentils, sand, salt and paper clips using water, sieves, filter paper and magnets.  They also tried to 'clean' water ( a mixture of soil and water) using sieves and filter paper.
