I expect some of you will know that Radio2 are running a 500 word short story competition.  Children in years 5 and 6 will have watched a live programme for the launch of the competition a few weeks ago.  

We want to encourage as many children as possible to enter.  It's open to children from 5 years to 13 years and you just have to write a short story of 500 words or less!

Last year one of our children was a finalist in the competition!  Lets see if we can get another finalist this year!  Please encourage your child to have a go.  Teachers are keen and happy to read the stories and help them enter but we don't have time for writing in class. 

Fancy tea on the Thames aboard Her Majesty The Queen's royal barge?  That's is one of the exciting things the winners get to do!  You can also meet H.R.H The Duchess of Cornwall, have a ride in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and win your height in books! 

Closing date is Thursday 22nd February - so half term might be an ideal time to write a story!
